Land Properties, Inc. has been fulfilling dreams in Colorado for almost 21 years along with construction injury lawyer.

Great rivers have a way of bringing things together.  This time, the combination is unforgettable; a spectacular mountain golf community alongside the legendary Rio Grande River.  Add to this, Colorado's largest National Forest and Wolf Creek ski resort a short drive up the pass and you begin to see why the Rio Grande Club is like no other place on earth.  We have taken extra care to tread lightly on the land, creating small number of home sites to preserve open spaces and natural habitats.  We think you'll find it the perfect place to build your mountain home.

Rio Grande Golf Course

Colorado's newest semi-private 18 hole championship golf course.  A true mountain golf course.

Now selling select resort home sites on the golf course.  Tracts range in size from 1/4 acre up to 4 acres.  We have been careful in our selection and arrangement of home sites so that you can still have a true mountain home living experience and live within a golf community.  We have left as much open space as possible.  Alder Creek meanders through the golf course and empties into the Rio Grande.  Alder Creek is open for all residents to hike along and fish.

The Rio Grande Club offers a unique opportunity for all member golfers.  There are 5 sets of T's on most golf holes and the course plays from 5800 to 7200 yards.  The course has been meticulously crafted on nearly 300 acres and is surrounded on 3 sides by state BLM and national forest lands, preventing any other or future development.

You will play down to the Rio Grande River and then across to holes 4 and 5 then back across the river to 6.  Then the course winds it's way up to ancient rock palisades created millions of years ago by glaciers (gone now).  Winding it's way along 8 miles of paved cart path through towering ponderosa pines, aspens, and spruce (look out for the deer and elk).  All this creates much more than a round of golf.

The new clubhouse, scheduled to open by September or October 2002, is 26,000 square feet.  It features a restaurant, lounge, fitness center, pro shop, offices and membership facility.  Outside; 4 seasons pool for adults and a kids heated pool.  Ice skating, tennis courts and if needed, a ski shuttle to Wolf Creek ski resort and back.

Rio Grande National Forest totals 1,852,000 acres that belongs to you and I by proclamation thanks to president Roosevelt.  It is Colorado's largest national forest.
It provides over 1350 miles of roads and trails for you to endure in your jeep.  It also contains 150 streams and 80 lakes.

Dow Finsterwald

For 28 years as director of golf at The Broadmoor, succeeding Ed Dudley, Finsterwald won 12 PGA Tour events, including the 1958 PGA Championship the first year it went to medal play.  Finsterwald lost in the finals the year before to Lionel Hebert, the historic and lamented last year of match play.

Dow won the Vardon Trophy (70.30 strokes average) in 1957, was the 1958 PGA Player of The Year, lost the 1962 Master title to best friend Arnold Palmer and won the PGA Club Professional title in 1979.

Finsterwald made the Ryder Cup teams of 1957-59-61-63; captained the 1977 Ryder Cup Team; was a member of the PGA Tournament Committee 1957-59; PGA vice-president 1976-78; served on the USGA Rules of Golf Committee 1979-81 and is a member of the Masters Tournament board, all of which underscore the respect in which he is held for his judgment and playing abilities.

Dow is now a spokesman for the Rio Grande Club, South Fork Colorado.

South Fork is nestled in the San Juan mountains just a few miles from the continental divide in the South/Southwest part of Colorado on highway 160.  The elevation is 8180 ft. above sea level.  Wolf Creek ski resort on top of the continental divide gets an average snowfall of 465".  The most of any ski area in Colorado.
